Class 3

Welcome to class 3

Miss Read is the class teacher and she will be supported by Miss Dimler and Miss Simms. P.P.A cover is provided by Mrs Guest on a Monday afternoon.

We hope you enjoy looking through our class page and seeing all of the exciting things that we do. Remember to keep checking for the latest installment of class 3's learning journey!

Our first topic this year will be all about History. The main focus will be looking at tools, technology and travel in the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome. We will be looking at how our ancestors have changed the world for others.

The other topics that we will be learning are:

A road trip through Europe exploring the human and physical features.

An Art and Design project based around the Stone Age.

General things

PE days are on Monday and Friday. Please ensure that the children have the correct kit on these days.

Music lessons will be on Monday afternoon with Mr Kelly and children will need to bring their Ukulele into school on that day.

Spellings will be given for the children to learn on Friday and the spelling check will be on the following Friday. We will also have a times table test once a week.

Homework will be set on Purple Mash on Wednesday and should be completed during the week.

For reading we expect the children to do a minimum of 5-10 minutes reading each night. If you would like to carry out extra activities, here are some options you may wish to choose:

- discussing key characters and settings

- making a list of unfamiliar words and their meanings

- discussing the book with your child and the events that occur

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
