Welcome to class 1.

Myself and our fantastic Class 1 team are all excited about welcoming back some of our children into year 1 and all our fabulous new FS2 children into full time school! We are always here for any questions or help that you might need.

BOOK BAGS….. Please ensure that your child brings their book bag to school

EVERY DAY. Your child will be provided with a reading book, reading diary and

homework book which should be sent in their book bag every day so that they can be updated by staff. I shall be encouraging the children to think about their book bag every time they put their school shoes on, this should help them to remember to bring it to school!

Letters will also be sent home in your child’s book bag so please check it on a regular basis.

There will be rewards for children who consistently bring their book bag

and books to school every day.

HOMEWORK….. Whenever we start a new topic, I will send home a list of

suggested homework activities which you may choose to do with your child to support their learning in class. Every child MUST read at home at least 3 times a week and they will be

regularly rewarded for doing so - if it is recorded in their reading diary. They will also have spellings to learn, which will be tested on a weekly basis.

PE KITS…..:  Children will need to bring their P.E. kits into school on Monday and leave them in school until Friday. NO EARRINGS.

WATER BOTTLES: Your child needs a water bottle in school every day. Please ensure that bottles only contain water.
