Street Dance

The children are really enjoying street dance this term. Think Diversity might have some competition soon!

Science

This week we have been doing an investigation into what plants need to grow. We have deprived three plants of water, light or heat and we are going to see which plants grow the best. We have a control plant to compare the end results to.

We will let you know our findings next week.

Art

Ta-Dah! Finished paintings of the Statue of Liberty. The children enjoyed the whole process from drawing, painting to adding the finishing details. They are rightly proud of their achievements.

W/C 24th January 2022

Holocaust Memorial Day

Today was Holocaust memorial day so we had an in class assembly to remember those who were lost and to think about what we could do to ensure this never happens again. The children made promises of things they could do to end discrimination in the future.

Art

This week we have started our new Literacy unit based around the book:

"The Man Who Walked Between The  Towers" by Mordicai Gerstein.

It promises to be really interesting and has already raised much excitement and many questions.

In Topic, the Amazing Americas, the children have made a fantastic effort with drawings and paintings of the Statue of Liberty.

W/C 17th January

This week the children have been finishing their writing about Anna Frank by writing a diary entry from Otto's point of view after the war when he was given Anne's diary. The children wrote some beautiful entries, particularly these two girls. They achieved star writer awards for their fabulous entries. Well Done!

Anne Frank Hot Seating

This week we have spent some time hot easting as Anne Frank. The children have taken it in turns to be Anne while the rest of the class have asked them questions.

The children asked some fantastic questions and our Anne's answered them fantastically.

"How were you so determined to keep going" - Sofia

"How did you survive in the annexe with out going outside for 2 years?" - India

"How did you feel when you were discovered?" - Charlie

Science

This term we are looking at plants and how they grow. We started by talking about germination and how plants grow from a seed. The children panted runner beans and although it took a little longer due to the weather most of the seeds have begun to grow. This mean the children could have a good look at their plants and identify the different stages of germination.

The children took their plants home today to to see if they can continue to grow them at home.

W/C 10th January

This week the children had their first street dance lesson with Miss Ellie. They had a fantastic time!

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
