Summer 1

Week 5

We have had a lovely final week this week. We have all enjoyed the sunshine at break time and very very much enjoyed the air conditioning in lesson time!

We have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes in numeracy. We have played lots of shape games all week and even had a 3D shape construction challenge! We had to build structures using only 30 pieces of spaghetti and 15 mini marshmallows. Caoimhe, Bobby and Ellie-May built the tallest structure that could stand by itself and won.

We have been learning all about different types of lines in numeracy. Today we learned about horizontal and vertical lines by singing a song! We had a competition - who could identify horizontal and vertical lines in flags. The pair who looked at the most flags won 5 raffle tickets. Each!

Week 3

We have had a very busy week this week. We honed our ICT skills by typing up the stories we have been writing in Literacy. There are some budding authors in the class!

We have been learning all about Pentecost in Come and See. We have created some beautiful art work depicting the Holy Spirit and even made a wanted poster for Peter!

This week we have started our new topic 'Beast Creator' which is all bout minibeasts. We began our topic with a minibeast hunt around the school. Everyone was very brave and we found all sorts of creepy crawlies!
The concert is just around the corner. We've started to add some actions to our songs, and I have to say, everybody sounds fantastic! Don't believe me? Have a listen for yourself!

Week 2

Class 3 have been working hard all year in recorder class and in only a few weeks time will be performing a concert. They seem really happy with their progress so far!

Literacy

We have been working of some stories that follow the journey of a river. There have been some creative ideas and outstanding descriptive writing. We are just about ready to type up our stories using computers.

Week 1

We started off the new term by following the journey of a river. We explored the sorts of places rivers run through and looked at some of the things that can end up in our rivers. Some of us were very disgusted by the things that get carried along by the current (Aidan was not impressed with the dog poo!) We thought of some ways we could keep our rivers clean - Joel even designed a machine that could be placed over rivers to clean the water and remove rubbish.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
