Week 6

The Christmas elves have finally finished all their beautiful handmade gifts. We do hope you enjoy them. 

Week 5

This Week we have been thinking all about  "Advent".  Advent means “arrival” or “coming,” and we will be thinking and remembering why Jesus came at Christmas.

We have also made Christingle candles. Each part of the Christingle candle has a special meaning:

• The orange represents the world
• The red ribbon is for the love and blood of Christ
• The dried fruit represent the four seasons
• The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world

Week 4

The Christmas elves have been very busy this week creating lots of lovely gifts for everyone to buy. For pleasure, we have been reading the book 'Beaver Towers' by Nigel Hinton which is about a boy called Phillip who gets taken by a kite to a mystery island. The class are thoroughly enjoying it, especially the parts which involve a small beaver called Baby B. 

Week 3

This week we have been reading the Greek myth 'Perseus and the Gorgon's Head' in class. We have looked at the features of Greek myths and are getting ready to write our own. We also acted out the whole play in a drama lesson, which the children really enjoyed. 

Week 2

Class 3 have been working very hard learning new ukulele chords this week, Mr Kelly was very impressed.  We have also been learning all about sound in science. We planned and carried out an experiment to see if we could block sound. Our results showed that sound travels better through hard objects than soft objects.

Week 1

In PE this week we have begun a new topics all about balancing. We looked at the different ways we can balance and we experimented with one, two and three point balances.
