Summer Term 1

What are we learning this half term?

Week 1

The children have started off our Summer term thinking about the Romans again! In History, we will be expanding our knowledge of the Romans and specifically looking at the Roman invasions and how they changed Britain.

We have been discussing our enquiry question:

How has the identity of British people and Britain changed over time?

Week 2

We have been learning about length and measurement in Maths!

This week, our focus has been on measuring in CM and using our ruler correctly. We worked in pairs to measure different objects around the classroom and compare our answers to see if we were correct. We will begin to look at metres and millimetres over the next few lessons.

Week 3

Coronation week!

On Friday, the children wore red, white and blue to celebrate the King's coronation this weekend. We have completed an art collage using pictures of famous British items and landmarks to create the outline of King Charles' head. Take a look at our classroom window to see them! For lunch, the children enjoyed their "Coronation themed lunch" and had lots of party food with sandwiches and cakes! smiley

Week 4

This week, we have been exploring how art can have a meaning and a message. We looked at Banksy and some of his artwork. We worked in groups to alter an image to make it have a positive message and how we can show respect, friendship and inclusion.

Week 5 - Class 3's visit to Clifton Park Museum for a Roman Day!

Times Table Super Stars!

Class 3 are on fire with their times tables. Take a look at the children who have won awards this week on Times Table Rockstars as they have increased their recall speed!

Week 6 - Rorschach prints in art
