Welcome to Class 5

Class 5 is for our Year 6 children at Sacred Heart. Weekly updates will be shared on our class page so you can see what we have been up to.

Class reminders:

• Homework will go out every Wednesday and is expected to be returned on the following Monday. Homework will include maths, reading at home, an English challenge and weekly spellings.
• PE kits should be brought to school every Monday and be taken home on a Friday. Earrings must be removed for PE.

Our current learning: 

English - We will be developing our writing skills by learning all about the place value of punctuation and grammar this half term.

Maths -  Our topics for maths are place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

History - In history, we are learning about the ancient Egyptian civilisation.

Science- This term, we are learning about electricity.

RE - Our topics this term are Loving and Vocation & Commitment.

Art - This half term, we are focusing on learning a range of art and design skills, including colour matching, line work and printing.

Computing -  Our focus in computing will begin with online safety and will then look at our unit about Bletchley Park, learning about coding.

Music - In Music, we will have an external music teacher, exploring rhythm, varying beats and differing notes.
