Week 5
Year 6 children have worked incredibly hard during SATs week. You should be very proud of yourselves!
Children have shown resilience, determination and have supported each other throughout the assessment period.

Week 4
In Guided Reading, children have enjoyed reading Good Night, Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian. Children have focused on fluency and expression, along with vocabulary, retrieval and text analysis.
In Maths, children have explored classifying and measuring angles (acute, obtuse and reflex). Children have also calculated internal and external angles.
In English, children have started to plan a complaint letter about varying topics. Some children have chosen to write a letter of complaint about an unfortunate holiday experience, poor stadium facilities or from the perspective of a character such as Cinderella.

Week 3
In Guided Reading, children have enjoyed reading Good Night, Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian. Children have focused on fluency and expression, along with vocabulary, retrieval and text analysis.
In Maths, children have explored algebra this week. We have also progressed to exploring classifying and measuring angles (acute, obtuse and reflex).
In English, children have been exploring the key features of a complaint letter, linking their knowledge and understanding to wider reading, experiences and interests.

Week 2
Year 4 and 5 children enjoyed a trip to Magna this week. Children experienced a range of science experiments relating to the forces of earth, fire, water and air.
