Happy New Year everyone, I hope you have had a lovely Christmas break with your families. It was lovely to see the children's smiling faces this morning ready to start their new term. I would like to welcome Mrs Levick to Class 2 this week who will be covering Mrs Tordoff on Thursday and Friday's until Easter.
A few points to note this half term.... (updated information in bold)
PE will be every Tuesday afternoon for all children. Please no earrings.
All items of clothing and belongings must have names on so we can help locate them if they are lost.
Reading books must be in school every day. We encourage children to read at least three times a week at home. They will be awarded extra credits if there are three adult signatures in their diary each week.
Reading books are linked to their Read Write Inc group in school unless they are off the program and then they will have a book suited to their individual need.
The children will continue to be set some homework tasks every Wednesday which will support the children's learning in school. We will put a sticker in their homework books if it is Purple Mash homework that week.
Children need to bring a water bottle to school each day. Water only please.
Check the class page each week, this can be saved as a shortcut on phones and tablets for easy access. Children really do enjoy talking about the pictures and videos we upload each week.
If you require any additional support with anything we do in class please do come and see us.
Hello Parents
I just wanted to introduce myself. I am Georgina Levick and will be teaching your delightful little people on Thursdays and Friday until Easter. Please feel free to chat with me in a morning or at home time - I am very approachable and happy to help in any way I can. I have been teaching for 12 years, mainly in EYFS (Nursery and Reception) and KS1 (Y1 and Y2) and am a mum of 2 children, my 6 year old son and 1 year old daughter.
I have really enjoyed my first week at Sacred Heart and look forward to getting to know your you and your lovely children over the spring term.
See you around school,
Mrs Levick
Sending love to our little soldiers!
Week 6 - Marvellous Mathematicians
Wk 6 6.2.23
This week we continued our work about Queen Victoria and significant events within her reign. The children learnt about the transatlantic slave trade and how this was abolished during this time.
We Are Victorians
This song from Primary Songs is Victorian Music Hall meets Steam Fair! It has a memorable melody with fairground organ-style introduction! It has a catchy swaying chorus and each verse delves into an important part of the Victorian era. The third verse changes the mood and focuses on child labour, being poor and the workhouse.
Wk 5 30.1.23
We mixed primary colours to make secondary colours in art.
Week 4- 23.1.23
In Literacy some of us have been learning how to improve our sentences using adjectives to create an expanded noun phrase. We described characters from this week's story Stick Man.
We have been identifying parts of a plant and the jobs that they do.
Week 3 - Wk Bg 16.1.23
This week we learnt all about Chinese New Year. We made year of the rabbit cards and wrote down all the facts we learnt. We really enjoyed learning about this exciting celebration!
Exploring Line - Chinese New Year inspired abstract art.
One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in a diverse and ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
