Autumn Term 2

Week 7 (WC12/12/22)

KS2 Carol Service

Week 6 (WC 5/12/22)

Thank you to all the parents who came to our reading morning, we really enjoyed seeing you all. This week we have been getting things ready for the Christmas Fayre, I think you will agree that the stall looks amazing.

Week 5 (WC 28/11/22)

This week we have been busy is DT making truss bridges out of spaghetti,  we had to make the structure as stable as possible. We looked at our designs and looked at ways we could improve it. We also enjoyed making 'Christingle  Oranges', we learnt about what each part of the orange represents.

Each element of a Christingle has a special meaning and helps to tell a story:

  • The orange represents the world
  • The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
  • The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations
  • The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.

Week 4 (WC 21.11.22)

This week we have been working really hard in literacy learning all about non-chronological reports. In DT we have  been looking at different structures and in todays lesson we have designed a stable structure that is able to support weight. In ICT we have continued our learning about coding.

Week 3 (WC 14.11.22)

We had a lovely end to the week celebrating 'Children in Need', well done for bringing in all your pennies, I thought the coin trail was never going to end!  Thank you to all the parents who made it into our reading morning, we hope you can join us next week.

Children in Need

Week 2 (WC 7.11.22)

This week we have completed our instructions about 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth'. We are about to start a new book called the 'The pebble in my Pocket' which the children are very excited about. We all had a wonderful afternoon this week when all the parents and carers came into school to make a shoe box prehistoric settlement, don't they all look amazing!

Week 1 (WC 31.11.2)

Welcome back to school class 3 and what a fantastic start to the Autumn term you have all made. We began the week with a visit to Cresswell Crags where we walked in the footsteps of woolly mammoths and visited the caves that the early humans would have lived in. We made shelters, painted cave art and learnt about live in the Stone Age. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and behaved impeccably, they were a credit to the school, Well done!
