Week 6
W.B 6.10.25
In Literacy, we continued to explore sentence structures and wrote sentences about our school. We focused on the classrooms and playground. We edited our sentences and added adjectives.
In Science, we looked at the freezing and melting of water. We explored what caused water to freeze or melt. We carried out an experiment to find out the conditions that would make ice melt quickly.
In Spanish, we learnt how basic greetings in Spanish. We also looked at counting 1,2,3 in Spanish.

Week 5

This week, we in English, started looking at non-chronological reports. We also used a WAGOLL based on Hogwarts to develop our Writing Rubric.
In P.E, we explored jumping, hopping and skipping actions.
In our Celebration of the Word, our new Virtue is Thanksgiving. We looked at the parable of the talents and discussed how we can use our talents as gift for God and let own light shine for others.
In History, we looked at the changes that happened in London after the fire.
We finished the week by participating in Times Table Rockstars Launch Day! Class 2 children practised login in to Numbots and having a go at some of the challenges.

Week 4

In P.E this week, we explored changing direction and dodging.
In Computing, we continued to look Data Processing. The children were introduced to some basic word-processing skills and learnt new keyboard shortcuts to help speed up typing.
In Literacy, we continued to use Jack and the Beanstalk story to explore nouns.

Week 3

In Maths this week, we looked at Place Value and focused on representation within 10 and counting forward and backwards.
In Art, we looked at Drawing: Exploring Line & Shape. We explored control and pressure of drawing equipment to create different types of lines.
In Literacy, we continued to use Jack and the Beanstalk story to explore varying sentence structures.
In Science, we looked at Everyday Materials, where we explored and sorted materials.

Week 2
W.B 8.9.25
This week, we in English, we were reading Jack and the Beanstalk story. We explored the vocabulary and developed our Oracy skills through retelling the story. We also used a WAGOLL to develop our Writing Rubric.
In P.E, we explored how the body moves when running at different speeds.
In R.E we were looking at Families. We talked about our experiences and feelings about the roles of people within families.
In History, we started looking at The Great Fire of London where we looked at different evidence to help us know what London was like in 1666.

Week 1
W.B 1.9.25
This week we took part in a variety of team-building activities to get to know each other and our new classroom. We enjoyed reading a book by Eric Litwin called Pete the Cat: Rocking in My School Shoes. We also looked at the Class and school rules and discussed the school’s behaviour expectations. We are looking forward to making happy memories during our learning journey.
