Week 7 

In Science we have been learning about floating and sinking. We tested various objects but predicted whether they would float or sink first. On our last day of term we borrowed Sue's (from breakfast club) big pumpkin. We had a vote and most of us thought it would sink BUT it FLOATED! 

The children did really well in their Harvest assembly. We have beautiful singing and nice clear lines. Well done this term Class 2! 

Week 6 

This week we have been getting ready for our Harvest assembly. We have been learning some songs and all the children have a line to say. 

In our Art lessons we have been creating self-portraits inspired by Paul Klee. 

Week 5 

In writing we are preparing to write a non-chronological report about our school. We have been reading a non-chronological report on Hogwarts as our inspiration. 

In Maths we have been learning doubles. We have used numicon to help us and we have enjoyed double trouble on Numberblocks. 

Week 4

In our RE lesson we are learning about how God takes care of us. We have read the parable of The Lost Sheep and we created a craft to remember the story. 

In Maths lessons we have been learning about less than, greater than and equal to and enjoyed using the Numbergators to help us. 

Week 3 

Our Science topic for this term is materials. We explored our outside areas to find out what materials have been used to build our school and to think about why that material was chosen. We have used the vocabulary hard and soft, transparent and opaque. 

Week 2  

During our Maths lessons this week, we have been learning about numbers from 10 to 20. We have been making them with a range of manipulatives. We have learnt the vocabulary of tens and ones. 

In History this week we have started our first topic on the Great Fire of London. We have learnt that history is learning about important events from the past. We have learnt how the Great Fire of London started and how is spread so quickly. 

Week 1 

Welcome to Class 2! We have welcomed our new children to class 2 this week. We have been settling into our new routines and expectations. We have been reading Jack and the Beanstalk as our story this week. Our children have been creating story maps and retelling the story through actions.
