Week 4 wc: 24th November
This week we have begun a new unit in writing. We are learning about instructions. Perhaps you could talk to your children about what instructions you use in the home - eg recipes.
Earlier in the week we loved following instructions to make some gingerbread men.
We are also busy practising for our nativity which we are doing with Class 1.
Week 3 wc:17th November
This week we have continued our science topic on animals. We have been learning about what the characteristics of mammals are.
In maths we have continued with place value to 100. We've enjoyed exploring the number square and finding patterns in it.
Week 2 wc:10th November
We have been learning about Judaism and in particular about Shabbat. We had our own celebration where we thought about how good it is to stop what we are doing, rest and think about God.
Week 1 wc: 3rd November
This week we have begun a new maths topic - Place value within 100.
The children have worked hard at reading and writing 2 digit numbers, then learning to represent them using base ten, counters, coins and straws.
We keep using the vocabulary “tens and ones” to help with understanding the value of each digit.
