This week, children have explored fluency, vocabulary and retrieval when reading Great Expectations by Jack Noel.
In English, children have started to explore journalistic writing. Children have studied differing writing styles and direct speech.
In Maths, children have explored fractions, decimals and percentages.
In Geography this week, children have compared weather and climate. Children also studied the positive impacts of tourism relating to mountainous regions.
It has also been assessment week this week for all children across school. Well done Class 5 for all of your hard work this week.

In Maths, children have explored multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 with integers and decimals.
In Science, children have studied bird and reptile life cycles, exploring key vocabulary such as fertilisation and juvenile.
In Geography this week, children have compared weather and climate.

In English, children have explored varying planning structures to encourage creativity and independence when planning a narrative.
In Maths, children have studied perimeter, area and volume.
In Science, children have studied amphibian and insect life cycles, exploring key vocabulary such as fertilisation and metamorphosis.
In Geography this week, children have used an atlas to explore mountains and varying land formations. Children developed further understanding of how a key can indicate land height.

In Maths, children have studied perimeter and area this week, focusing predominantly on rectangles, rectilinear and compound shapes.
In Science, children have studied mammal life cycles, including the human life cycle. Children have explored vocabulary such as foetus, fertilisation and uterus.
