Autumn 2 - North America

Week ending 6th December 2024

On Thursday we had fun taking part in our Elf Run to raise funds for Barnsley Hospice.

This week we tested which materials made good conductors and insulators. The children really enjoyed making electrical circuits and adding the different materials to see if they made the bulb light up.

Week ending 29th November 2024

On Thursday we had a classroom full of scientists. We spent the afternoon investigating how electrical circuits work and how to fix broken circuits.

We had a fantastic parents afternoon and the children and their adults produced some fantastic pieces of art inspired by the physical features of North America. Thank you to everyone who was able to attend.

On Monday of this week, Year 5 went to St. Pius on a Technology day. They had an amazing experience, designing and making plastic Christmas chocolate moulds, making a box and using the computer to generate their name on a laser cutter and made cookies. As always, their excellent behaviour was commented upon by St. Pius staff and we are very proud of them.

Weekending 22nd November

This week class 4 teamed up with class 3 to complete some coding on the microbits they did an excellent job!

One of the children in our class was so inspired by their class library book they went home and wrote down some of the facts they had learnt. What fantastic independant learning!

Week ending Fri 15th November

On Remembrance Monday, Class 4 went to the Cenotaph to pay their respects and honour a one minute silence. We were very proud of each and every one of them.

Class 4 continue to work in small groups to plan and lead worship with our younger classes. They are proving to be excellent role models.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in a diverse and ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
