Spring 1, week 1, w/c 06/01/2025:
Despite an unexpected extra day off due to the snow, the children have settled back into the new year and school life brilliantly. They have been extremely sensible during the indoor play time and we hope the ice will have thawed by next week so that we can get out in the fresh air and expel some energy and have lots of fun.
Literacy
In whole class writing, we are exploring the narrative 'Jim and the Beanstalk' by Raymond Briggs. It is an unusual take on the traditional tale 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. This week, we have been learning and retelling the story with pictures and in groups using Pie Corbett actions. Over the next two weeks, we will be writing our own narrative based on this story.
