Week 6

This week, Class 2 finished our D&T project and we took home the puppets we have worked hard to design, improve our skills and then create.

Well done Class 2 on your fantastic puppets!

This week marks the end of the academic year and the time our Year 2 children will be moving up into Class 3 and Year 1s will become Year 2 in Class 2!

Everyone that has been in Class 2 should be incredibly proud of the hard work they have put in this year and of their achievements over the course of the year.

Have a wonderful summer holidays everyone!

Love Miss Garratt (soon to be Mrs Chambers)

Week 4

Local Fieldwork

This Wednesday, Class 2 have completed field work in our local area of Hoyland

We have focused on developing our Geographical Skills.

Class 2 are developing their skills to compare one area to another and choose something to compare between two places we have studied. We have been exploring the question:

Are shops different in Skegness compared to my town of Hoyland?

Today Class 2 completed a checklist looking at different types of houses and buildings on the way down to the centre of Hoyland. Then, we completed a tally chart on all the different shops we saw in the centre of Hoyland.

Well done Class 2 on your fantastic Geography work this week!

We have started this topic by exploring treasures from home and around us.

Class 2 created their own treasure boxes and created treasures to go inside them. Their treasures included; our school, church, family, friends, water and many more precious gifts.

Well done Class 2 on you fantastic work in RE this week!

Week 1

This week, Class 2 had a fantastic return to school. Everyone achieved a place on Outstanding on our behaviour board for their effort and positive attitude to learning.

We completed some great learning including concluding our Come and See RE topic on Rules. We focused on Jesus teaching his disciples about forgiving

Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘If my friend keeps hurting me, how many times do I have to forgive him/her? Seven times?

‘No, not seven times,’ answered Jesus, ‘but seventy times seven.’                                              Based on Matthew 18: 21-22.

Our task was to write words of friendship and forgiveness on stepping stones creating pathway to forgiveness.

Well done Class 2 on your hard work and excellent attitudes to learning this week!
